Itinerary - Day by day

  • Arrival in Stockholm according to your own itinerary
  • Accommodation in Stockholm

Arrival in Stockholm according to your own itinerary. The Swedish capital has plenty on offer to its visitors. With its 750 year history and rich cultural life, Stockholm offers many well known places of interest such as the Royal Palace, Stockholm Cathedral, the City hall and Gamla Stan (Old Town) - one of the best preserved medieval city centers in the world. You will find everything from historical buildings to trendy bars and cafes, modern shopping malls to unique boutiques, from vibrant city life to the tranquility of the Stockholm archipelago. Stockholm is, with good reason, often referred to as "Beauty on Water". This is partly due to its location on 14 islands, but also because of its neighbour - the Stockholm archipelago with 24 000 islands. Accommodation in Stockholm.

Here you will stay at Abisko Tourist Station, located only a few minutes’ walk from the chairlift going up to the Aurora Sky Station. Before travelling up to the station in the evening you will be provided with warm overalls and blankets. The sky station is an excellent location to observe the northern lights since there is no air pollution and the nearby lake Torne träsk, "the blue hole of Abisko” is said to keep the skies above the mountain station clear, even when fog covers other parts of Lapland. Upon arrival you will join a guided tour. At the Aurora Sky Station you will find a panorama café selling coffee, tea, cakes and sandwiches, a souvenir shop and look-out tower. There is also a northern lights exhibition, which emphasizes observing and understanding the northern lights. The observations are made with help of both radio receivers and northern lights cameras. Please note that for guests booking category GOLD, a 4-course dinner is included at the restaurant. Accommodation at Abisko Tourist Station.
