Panorama snowcat ride Longyearbyen

Enjoy a guided mini expedition in the fun snowcat, a tracked all-terrain vehicle, that will bring you up to a viewpoint opposite Longyearbyen.

The snowcat is impossible to miss when it rolls up in front of the hotel! After the welcome and short briefing by the guide, you will head out of town and make a first stop at the polar bear sign. Then you soon continue off the beaten track. The goal for the tour is the viewpoint Linken up the side of the mountain Hiorthfjellet on the other side of the Adventdalen valley. You head towards Hiorthham, one of the first mining towns which is now a popular spot for local cabins, and then through Telegrafdalen valley. The guide will tell you lots of interesting facts about coal mining, the Arctic hunters, Polar geology and more. Once you arrive at the amazing viewpoint Linken, you will take a break and enjoy the fabulous views towards Longyearbyen while the guide serves hot drinks.

Approximately 50% price reduction for children between the age of 2-13 years. Minimum age is 2 years.

Guide with all necessary safety equipment, transport by tracked vehicle (snowcat) incl. pick-up and drop-off from Radisson Blu Polar Hotel (city centre), hot beverage and biscuits.

Please note:

Physical requirement : This tour is suitable for everyone. One wheelchair space on request.

Special conditions: Minimum 2 participants. If you are less than that, you can still book as other guests might join. This is a popular tour that will usually runs daily but if there no other participants, it will be cancelled and a full refund will be given (suggestions for alternatives will be made).

Clothing: You need to dress warmly (in layers), with winter outerwear and solid shoes.

Weather dependent: All outdoor activities are weather dependent. This tour may be adjusted, and the route and destination may be changed if required. Should the tour need to be cancelled completely by the supplier, a full refund will be made.
