Dog wagon tour in Advent Valley

Experience unique arctic scenery. Join an exciting tour with polar dogs pulling wheeled carts in the Advent Valley during the summer season, when the snow has started melting.

You will be picked up at your hotel and brought to the dog yard where many excited polar dogs are waiting for you. You will be equipped with overalls and boots and receive a briefing on the tour and a demonstration of dog wagon control. You will then help harness the dogs before it is time to follow the dirt road along the Advent Valley (Adventdalen).

The guide will drive first with one guest, followed by carts for 2-3 people pulled by about 8 dogs each. All guests get to steer if they like. The dogs will make good speed as you follow the road towards the old northern lights research station. The tour takes you along the track into Endalen, past the cableway turning station and towards the old Gruve5 Mine. You will make several stops along the way to give the dogs a drink. During the ride you will have a good chance of seeing reindeer, foxes and birds. After about one and a half hours of dog sledding, you will head back to the kennel. Here you can relax with a hot drink in the cosy log cabin at the yards, and enjoy some cuddles with the newest litter of puppies.
