Detour via Flåm Railway & Nærøyfjord

As an alternative to the direct train from Oslo to Bergen, we can offer a beautiful detour via the Flåm Railway and Nærøyfjord, onboard a new eco-friendly fully-electric vessel.

The 5-hour train journey from Oslo to Myrdal is part of the Bergen Railway, classed as one of the finest train journeys in the world. In Myrdal you will change to the Flåm Railway, connecting the Bergen Line to the Sognefjord. You will pass through wild and beautiful mountain scenery before reaching the fjord village of Flåm.

From Flåm you will board the new eco-friendly fully-electric vessel that cruises on the UNESCO listed Nærøyfjord between Flåm and Gudvangen in 2 hours. The vessel is running on battery power, keeping to a speed of less than 10 knots to allow you to enjoy the scenery to the fullest. The design of the vessel is inspired by a trail finding its way up a steep mountainside. It measures 40 meters in length and 15 meters in width. Outside the ferry, passengers will be able to climb all over the boat while the inside will feature panoramic views. The Nordic inspired interior design offers a high level of comfort.

From Gudvangen the journey continues by bus through the Nærøyfjord Valley. The last part of the excursion will be by train from Voss to Bergen, Norway’s second-largest city and the world’s only city surrounded by 7 mountains and 7 fjords.
