Day cruise on the Göta Canal

Join the M/S Kung Sverker for a guided round trip along the most picturesque section of the Göta Canal, from Motala to Borensberg and back. Lunch onboard is included.

Tucked away in the heart of Scandinavia is a hidden gem of Swedish heritage and natural splendor—the Göta Canal. Built in the early 19th century by some 58,000 soldiers, it remains one of the largest construction projects in Sweden.

Aboard the M/S Kung Sverker, you will experience a guided tour along the most beautiful part of the Göta Canal. During the 5-hour journey, you will pass through 12 locks and visit culturally and historically significant sites such as the founder Baltzar von Platen's grave, Motala Ström, Charlottenborg Castle, and the old factory area of Motala Verkstad.

In Borenshult, you'll navigate the famous lock staircase, comprising five locks that take about 20 minutes to descend. Afterward, lunch will be served on Lake Boren.
