2H: Hike with a visit to a shieling

Participate in a hike from the fjords via the meadows to the summer grazing site at Haukås where you can learn about traditional farming and try local foods.

Join this delightful hike to a shepherd’s shelter. Since farms where very small in the villages back in the days, cows were brought to surrounding areas for grazing. Every morning and evening, they had to return to the shelter in the mountains for milking, which is why houses in Haukås were built for the maids. Here you can carry milk pails and churn butter, but also explore on your own, as well as taste local foods.
