2-day overnight cruise from Söderköping to Motala, shelter deck

This 2-day cruise on the Göta Canal runs from Söderköping to Motala and includes one overnight accommodation onboard the historical ship M/S Wilhelm Tham.

The cruise departs at 11:00 hrs on the first day and arrives at Motala on the second day of the cruise at approximately 16:00 hrs. A return bus to Söderköping taking 1,5 hrs is included.

Your own private cabin onboard and full board (exclusive drinks) is included. The ship M/S Wilhelm Tham cruises through forests and serene villages of Sweden’s agricultural heartland. On the way, you will pass Borensberg with its well known Göta Canal hotel, two aqueducts and Lake Asplången and the famous locks of Berg. The Carl-Johan lock staircase is the longest in the canal with its seven connected locks, and lifts or lowers boats 18.8 meters, a fascinating spectacle that often attracts a large audience. Here, you have the opportunity to visit the convent of Vreta, the first nunnery in Sweden that dates from about 1100. The ship stops overnight by the locks at Berg. The ship departs Berg the following morning. This day you will visit Runstorp Manor House where the owners will take you on an exclusive tour of their house with its Gustavian drawing room and interesting library, all while relating anecdotes from its history. In the afternoon the ship arrives to Motala. Here, a bus is waiting to bring you back to Söderköping (app. 1,5 hours). Arrival in Söderköping around 18:00 hrs.
