Day 01: Arrival in Helsinki, the capital of Finland

Arrival in Helsinki according to your own itinerary. The Finnish capital is a modern cultural city, which throughout 450 years of history, has existed in the crosscurrents of the East and West. The colourful layers of history can be seen everywhere; a walking tour of the city centre or of the magnificent Suomenlinna Maritime Fortress will open your eyes to a fascinating past. Sights of interest include the historical centre, the Senate Square, the Parliament building, Finlandia Hall, the Sibelius Monument and Temppeliaukio Church (Rock Church). Accommodation in Helsinki.

Day 02: Travel by train to St. Petersburg - day at leisure

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from Helsinki by a 3,5-hour train ride to St. Petersburg – often referred to as Russia’s cultural capital. An English speaking transfer assistant will meet you at the train station and you will be transferred by car to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your own leisure in St. Petersburg, a city of outstanding architectural beauty, famous for its magnificent palaces, cathedrals, fountains and bridges. Sights of interest include: The Palace Bridge, Alexander Garden, Peter and Paul Fortress and much more. We highly recommend you to visit Peterhof (please see add-ons for further information). Day 03: St. Petersburg: Grand City Tour

After breakfast an English speaking local guide will meet you at your hotel for a private 3-hour visit of St. Petersburg. Your tour will include the famous sights, such as the Palace Square, the Winter Palace, the Summer Garden, Nevsky Prospect, The Square of Arts, Saint Isaac’s Cathedral and much more. After the sightseeing tour, the guide will drive you to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your own leisure. Accommodation in St. Petersburg.

Day 04: St. Petersburg: Visit of the Hermitage Art Museum

Breakfast at the hotel. At 10:00 hrs a local guide will meet you at your hotel and take you on a 3-hour visit of the world-famous Hermitage Art Museum. This museum is one of the most famous and largest museums in the world with more than three million works of art and artefacts of the world culture in its collection. (Kindly note that Hermitage Art Museum is closed on Mondays, January 1 and May 9). The afternoon is at your own leisure. Accommodation in St. Petersburg.

Day 05: Departure from St. Petersburg

Breakfast at the hotel. A driver will pick you up at your hotel for the private transfer to the airport. Departure from St. Petersburg according to your own itinerary.
