Kirkenes Snow Hotel is entirely constructed from snow and ice each year; it opened in December 2006 for the first time.
The Snow Hotel is located in Gabba Reindeer Park, just outside the centre of Kirkenes. Enjoy a welcome drink in the Snow Bar and say hello to the reindeer. The starter will be served in the cozy Gabba Restaurant, the main dish and dessert in the Bingen Restaurants in the main building, both located just opposite the Snow Hotel. The restaurants serve delicious food from the region, in the Gabba Restaurant prepared by the open fire.
Every guest at the Snow Hotel will sleep like Snow Queens and Kings in the Snow Suites! The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated and illuminated by art made of snow.
In the Snow Suites there are real beds with real mattresses. Beds are surrounded by ice blocks. You will get a sleeping bag, sheet, woolen socks and a woolen overnight hat. There are curtains as a door in every SnowSuite.
Temperature varies from -4 Celsius degrees to -6 Celsius degrees.
We recommend that you sleep in:
Next to the snow hotel you will find the warm restaurant, lounge, wardrobes/toilets and showers/sauna.
For guests having trouble sleeping in the Snow Suites, there is a small sleeping area by the restaurant.
Hotel rooms in Scandinavia are generally furnished with twin beds, which can be moved together to form a double bed or placed separately (some hotels have double beds though). Unless otherwise specified all rooms have private bathroom facilities, which are often equipped with a shower instead of a bath. Please note that single rooms are generally smaller than doubles. Purpose-built triple or family rooms are likewise unusual in Scandinavian hotels. Whilst it is possible for 3 persons to share a room, this will normally be formed by a double room with an extra bed. As a result space may be restricted.
Unless otherwise clearly specified a standard room/cabin is included in the tour price.
