Clarion Hotel Wisby is located near the small harbor in the old part of Visby. The building dates back to the 13th century and the medieval atmosphere is present everywhere.
The various buildings of Clarion Hotel Wisby each have their own history to tell. They were built during the Middle Ages as warehouses – buildings in which merchants stored and exhibited their wares. At the end of the 17th century they were used as bonded stores, i.e. buildings in which the government stored the grain that the farmers paid in tax.
The onsite spa, Kroppshälsan, offers sauna and pool facilities as well as water aerobics and various treatments.
The bright and comfortable rooms all have air conditioning, satellite TV and minibars.
Several museums and historic sites are located in the surrounding area such as the Visby City Center, Botanical Garden (Botaniska Trädgården), Gotlands Fornsal museum and Dalhem, site of the oldest church in Gotland.Distances:
Hotel rooms in Scandinavia are generally furnished with twin beds, which can be moved together to form a double bed or placed separately (some hotels have double beds though). Unless otherwise specified all rooms have private bathroom facilities, which are often equipped with a shower instead of a bath. Please note that single rooms are generally smaller than doubles. Purpose-built triple or family rooms are likewise unusual in Scandinavian hotels. Whilst it is possible for 3 persons to share a room, this will normally be formed by a double room with an extra bed. As a result space may be restricted.
Unless otherwise clearly specified a standard room/cabin is included in the tour price.
