This 2-hour snowmobile safari adventure with an experienced guide takes you into the Norwegian wilderness with its majestic mountains and snow covered valleys with excellent chances of spotting the Northern Lights.
You will be picked up from Tromsø at 17:00 hrs and transferred by bus to the majestic Lyngen Alps where beautiful fjords meet alpine mountains. Upon arrival, you will receive warm winter clothes. The snowmobile safari starts with a thorough safety introduction and a practical demonstration. You do not need any previous skills to drive a snowmobile, all that is required is normal fitness level and a valid driver’s license.
You will be driving in pairs, one driver and one passenger on each snowmobile, with the opportunity to switch places half way. On the tour you will drive past majestic mountains and through the dramatic snow covered Finn valley, starting at 250 meters above sea level and climbing up to 900 meters. You will be driving for approximately 2 hours. Due to the dramatic topography, a reduced speed is maintained during parts of the tour. Back at the wilderness camp you will be served a hot meal and coffee around the bonfire in the cozy dining lavvu (traditional Sami tent).
It is possible to drive your own snowmobile for an additional cost. If this is of your interest please let us know during the booking process.

Transport, approx. 4,5 hrs at Camp Tamok (incl. preparations, instructions, 2 hrs snowmobiling, hot meal and relaxing at the camp), guide, winter clothing (winter overall suit, boots, mittens and balaclava), helmet and hot drinks.
Special conditions: Minimum 2 participants. If travelling alone you can still book this add-on as there might be other travelers participating. All drivers of snowmobiles must have a valid driver’s license. The snowmobile driver is held liable for any damages caused to the vehicle. The minimum height is 130 cm, passengers must be 130 cm as well. The tour is somewhat physically demanding.
Weather dependent: All outdoor activities are weather dependent and may be cancelled or replaced by more suitable alternatives should the conditions not permit to run the tour as planned. A full refund will be made for activities cancelled by the supplier due to weather conditions.
Northern Lights: Kindly note that northern lights observations are never guaranteed (depending on solar activity and a clear sky). No refund can be made for activities booked if you do not see the northern lights.
