Local Culture & Reindeer Excursion in Muonio

Join this excursion to a local reindeer herder and participate in a reindeer safari. Learn about the culture of the original Lappish reindeer herders in one of the oldest reindeer farms in Finland.

Today you will be transferred to the nearby Torassieppi reindeer farm, which is a charming old fashioned state from 1847. Visit the main house and listen to stories about the farmers who have lived here until recent years. Then you will visit the rustic little museum to learn more about the reindeer herding in Lapland. The reindeer are already waiting to take you on a safari on a traditional sled into the forest. The reindeer herder leads the way in the first sled.

Lunch will be served in a traditional Lappish tent (kota) by the fire. After the reindeer experience you can see the impressive Winter Village snow hotel which is located right next to the farm.
