This 2-hour snowmobile safari adventure takes you far into the Norwegian wilderness with its majestic mountains and snow covered valleys before returning to the wilderness camp for a hot meal.
You will be picked up from Tromsø at 09:00 hrs and transferred by bus to the majestic Lyngen Alps where beautiful fjords meet alpine mountains. Upon arrival, you will receive warm winter clothes. The snowmobile safari starts with a thorough safety introduction and a practical demonstration. You do not need any previous skills to drive a snowmobile, all that is required is a normal fitness level and a valid driver's license.
You will be driving in pairs, one driver and one passenger on each snowmobile, with the opportunity to switch places half way. On the tour you will drive past majestic mountains and through the dramatic snow covered Finn valley, starting at 250 meters above sea level and climbing up to 900 meters. The trail is 11 kilometers per way, 22 kilometers in total, and you will be driving for approximately 2 hours.
Due to the dramatic topography, a reduced speed is maintained during parts of the tour. The top point of the trail is the ice-covered lake of Finn, where you can relax and admire the scenery of the Finn valley. If time and weather permit, you can try ice fishing on the lake. Once back at the wilderness camp you will be served a hot meal and coffee around the bonfire in the cozy dining lavvu (traditional Sami tent).

Special conditions: Minimum 2 participants. If travelling alone you can still book this add-on as there might be other travelers participating. Car driving license required, alt ”EU-card”. Drivers need to be at least 18 years old with a ”EU-card” or ”A Class”. Snowmobile driver is held liable for any damages caused to the vehicle. Minimum height is 130 cm, passengers must be 130 cm as well. The tour is somewhat physically demanding.
Weather dependent: All outdoor activities are weather dependent and may be cancelled or replaced by more suitable alternatives should the conditions not permit to run the tour as planned. A full refund will be made for activities cancelled by the supplier due to weather conditions.
