This cultural family friendly adventure gives you the chance to get up close to the reindeer and an insight into Sami life. The reindeer are awaiting your arrival at Camp Tamok.
You will be picked up at 09:00 hrs and transferred from Tromsø by bus to the majestic Lyngen Alps where beautiful fjords meet alpine mountains. Upon arrival, you will receive warm winter clothes before your experienced Sami guide brings you to the Sami Camp and the reindeer by a short minibus transfer.
You will drive in pairs with one reindeer pulling the sleigh. All you have to do is sit back and make sure you are comfortable so you can enjoy and observe the majestic and magical views of the beautiful mountains that this area offers.
After the sledding tour, you will go back to a warm lavvu (Sami tent), and in a cosy environment around the bonfire your guide will tell you more about Sami culture and the people.
You will also try lasso-throwing, the method Sami people still catch reindeer, and you can try feeding the reindeer too! Before returning to Tromsø, a hot meal will be served in the lavvu.
