Visit the world's first all year ice hotel in Jukkasjärvi during the summer and fall. From June to Mid-July you will experience the Midnight Sun - during this period the sun never sets. September and October offer great opportunities for seeing the Northern Lights. Possibility to add excursions like river rafting, ice sculpting, hiking trips and more.
This tour can commence in: Kiruna
Arrival in Kiruna according to your own itinerary, followed by transfer from Kiruna airport or train station to the Ice Hotel 365, which is located by the Torne River in the small village of Jukkasjärvi in Swedish Lapland. Ice Hotel 365 is year-round ice experience in 2,100 square meter with 20 suites, an ice bar that serves champagne and drinks, as well as an ice gallery; all created out of snow and ice. The interior is always between -5°C to -8°, even when it is warm outside. To keep the hotel cold, solar panels are used. Activities are not included in this tour, which give you the opportunity to choose freely, and at your own pace. It's however recommended that you book these in advance. From May 30 to July 14th you can experience the Midnight Sun (24 hours of daylight above the Arctic Circle), and in the fall you have good chances of seeing the Northern Lights. Overnight at Kaamos Hotel (warm accommodation) next to the Ice Hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. This day is at your own leisure. We recommend joining one of the many activities, such as going on a Fishing Adventure, joining the wildlife photo tour or joining the mountain trek to the troll lake. In the evening, you can choose to dine at the Ice Hotel restaurant, go for a wilderness dinner or alternatively, dine at the Old Homestead restaurant, 800 meters from the Ice Hotel. Tonight you will stay at the Ice Hotel 365, in rooms furnished with furniture made from ice and snow. You will sleep in a thermal sleeping bag on comfortable reindeer skins on a special bed (please see hotel description for further details about the Ice Hotel 365 and dining options).
After waking up with with a hot lingonberry juice, you will have breakfast at the Ice Hotel Restaurant. Today is at your own leisure to further enjoy the Arctic Summer. The Ice Hotel is located by the Torne River, from which the Ice Hotel harvests it's ice every winter. During the Summer we recommend joining a river rafting tour or an ice sculpting activity (please see add-ons for further details). In the fall you can join Northern Lights tours. Overnight at Kaamos Hotel (warm accommodation) next to the Ice Hotel.
