Reykjavik has a lot to offer including great dining, unique boutiques, shops, museums, theaters, a number of swimming pools and a vibrant nightlife. The first stop today will be made at Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where you can walk behind the waterfall. The coach continues along the farmlands of the south coast to Landeyjarhöfn harbour. When you arrive at the pier a 30 minute ferry crossing will bring you over to the Westman Islands (roundtrip with the ferry is included). The Westman Islands are one of the best kept secrets in Iceland and some say you haven't seen Iceland until you have visited these islands. Once there your guide will show you around Heimaey Island, the largest of the Westman Islands. Adventures of the day include a visit to the puffins in Storhofdi, a walk up to the crater of a volcano that erupted only a few years ago and exploring flora of the new lava field. After lunch you will have time at leisure to explore the islands on your own. The entrance to the Eldheimar Volcanic Centre is included. The guide will be happy to help with booking an optional RIB boat tour if you are interested in that. Dinner tonight is not included. Accommodation at Hotel Vestmannaeyjar on the Westman Islands.
Breakfast at the hotel. Take the ferry back to the mainland and travel further along the south shore, passing many glacial rivers, to Skogarfoss Waterfall where water drops down 60 meters. Only a few steps from the waterfall is Skogar folk museum where you can learn more about the Icelandic culture. Entrance to the Skogar museum in included. From the museum, you will continue to the black sands of Reynisfjara beach. Here you can witness the powerful waves and amazing basalt column features carved by the power of the sea. Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will head for a day tour from the hotel, and return again in the afternoon. You will travel through the Catholic convent at Kirkjubæjarklaustur towards Skaftafell National Park, one of Iceland’s most outstanding areas of natural beauty. The area is dominated by magnificent views of the mighty Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier. Continue to the stunning Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon to see floating icebergs and maybe a curious seal or two. Here you can also add the optional activity of sailing amongst the icebergs (needs to be booked through the guide at the beginning of your tour). Return to Hotel Edda Vik (or similar) for dinner and accommodation.

Today's tour starts with a visit to the new Lava Centre (entrance is included), an interactive, high-tech educational exhibition depicting volcanic activity, earthquakes and the creation of Iceland over millions of years. Afterwards, continue to the so-called Golden Circle area. You first head for the Geysir hot spring area to see the famous Geysir and Strokkur geysers. From there the tour continues to Þingvellir National Park, where the ancient parliament met for centuries on the shores of Iceland’s largest lake. Every year the continentals drift approx. 2 cm. From Þingvellir you head back to Reykjavik. Accommodation in Reykjavík at Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Natura (or similar).
