Arrival in Alta according to your own itinerary. Alta is located in Finnmark county in Northern Norway. Alta is accessible by flight from Oslo (no flights on Saturdays!), and can therefore easily be combined with overnights in Norway's capital city. The small town of Alta is the largest town in Finnmark and offers northern lights, mountains, Sami culture, reindeer and UNESCO-protected rock carvings. This is the perfect location for an exotic winter adventure, with the possibility to join snowmobile safaris, dog-sledding excursions and much more. Accommodation in Alta.
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel and brought to the Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel. Here, you start your 1,5-hour reindeer sledding and Sami experience. If you prefer a dog sled or snow scooter tour, it is possible to change to this for an additional cost. Afterwards, you have time at leisure at the premises of the Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel. Here you can borrow sleds, kick sleds and snow shoes, or go for a walk.
In the evening, a 3-course dinner will be served in the beautiful wooden restaurant Laksestua shaped like a Sami Lavvo. After that, it is time to settle into your accommodation for the night, the Igloo Hotel. You will spend the night under comfortable reindeer-hides and in warm sleeping bags (see hotel description for further details).
The sauna is heated every morning at 7am; warm up before breakfast and your transfer back to the centre of Alta. It is also possible to book the transfer directly to the airport. If your schedule allows, it is possible to add further winter activities such as a dog sledding or snow mobile tour. You can also add an extra night in Alta. Departure according to your own itinerary.
