The newly-built Kelo-Glass Igloos in the West Village are made from Lapland’s unique Kelo pinewood and combine the comfort of a warm cosy log chalet with the extraordinary views of a Glass Igloo.
The Kelo-Glass Igloos feature a private sauna, bathroom with shower, fireplace, kitchenette, and a bedroom with a glass roof from where you can admire the Northern Lights from the comfort of your own bed. This is an ideal place for viewing the Northern Lights because of its location far above the Arctic Circle. There is almost no light pollution and very few trees blocking your line of vision. Your Kelo-Glass Igloo is even equipped with an Aurora alarm system.
The Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort is located 250 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland. The resort is in the Saariselkä fell area and the village is surrounded by stunning arctic wilderness near the Urho Kekkonen National Park. Kakslauttanen Arctic resort is divided into the East and West ‘Villages’ comprising cosy log cabin chalets and glass- and snow igloos, surrounded by pristine nature. Both villages have a reception, a small gift shop and a restaurant. Please note that the villages are approximately 4 kilometres apart. The West village is the newest village and here you can find a 30-metre-high tower; The Art and Glass Igloo tower, which is the only one of its kind in the world. Here you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding arctic wilderness and get even closer to the magical arctic sky. The restaurant Aurora in the West village is one of the biggest log restaurants in the world and offers Lappish traditional cuisine. It is also home to the Glass Igloo bar where you can enjoy a drink under the arctic sky.
