The Arctic Deluxe rooms are designed to blend modern luxury and Lappish tradition. With wood interiors and large windows offering views of the snow-covered landscape, the rooms provide a peaceful retreat surrounded by Arctic nature. If booking a triple room you will stay at a Panorama Hut.
The Vaattunki Wilderness Resort is surrounded by beautiful rapids of River Raudanjoki, lush shoreline forest and pristine wild nature and is an ideal place for guests wishing to stay in a peaceful area close to Rovaniemi. The resort area consists of the main building where you will find the restaurant and the Moose Bar & Lounge, which also serves as the reception, as well as different types of accommodation. You are only a 15-minute drive (18 kilometers) from Rovaniemi International airport, and you can reach central Rovaniemi in 20 minutes (24 kilometers) by car.
Housed in two traditional log cabins, the Arctic Deluxe rooms bring together Lappish traditions and modern luxury. There is a total of 12 rooms, all fully renovated in 2025. The rooms are equipped with modern amenities such as flat-screen TV, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, Wi-Fi and a luxurious bathroom with hairdryer, shampoo and conditioner. The rooms vary from 16-22 m² and are available with either one double bed (180 cm) or two twin beds (90 cm each). Max. 2 persons can stay in each room.
The cosy on-site restaurant invites you to step in and enjoy delicious food in a warm atmosphere. The impressive logs used as the building material, tasty meals with local ingredients and a warm fireplace make you feel right at home in Lapland. Within easy walking distance from the resort you can also find the intimate wooden teepee hut Jaarankota located on the Raudanjoki River island. In Jaarankota they serve unique wilderness meals with guests dining around a large open fireplace.
At the resort you can simply relax and breathe in the fresh air, try the saunas, or take the opportunity to indulge in several exciting winter activities such as dog sledding, reindeer sledding and snowmobile tours. The resort is a gateway for the Arctic Circle Hiking Area. You can discover the marked hiking trails surrounded by the resort, and the diverse network offers something for every taste from short strolls to longer hikes. You can rent snowshoes or forest skis to make your day outdoors even more interesting. The private island next to the resort is the best place to see Northern lights, as the Wilderness resort has no light pollution from the city.
A shuttle is provided once a day between Vaattunki Wilderness Resort - Santa Claus Village - Rovaniemi city centre from December to March, and must be arranged latest by 18:00 hrs the previous day.
