All cabins on shelter deck (middle deck) are outside cabins with a window and open out onto the deck. The cabins are charming and tastefully decorated, but small (the size of a sleeping compartment on a train). All cabins are fitted with bunk beds and a washbasin with hot and cold water. None of the cabins have private facilities, but there are shared toilet facilities on each deck. Showers are located on the main deck and on the bridge deck.
M/S Diana is the youngest of the company’s ships, built at the Finnboda shipyard outside Stockholm and launched in 1931. She had been ordered in anticipation of a wave of Swedish-American guests during the Tercentenary Celebration and was designed to travel the Göta Canal between Gothenburg and Stockholm. M/S Diana was listed in 2009, meaning that the National Maritime Museums consider her historically important.
Cabins: There are 25 cabins on three decks; main/lower deck (cabin category C), shelter/middle deck (cabin category B) and bridge/upper deck (cabin category A).
All cabins are tastefully fitted with brass details and attractive textiles. They are small and cosy, giving an impression of how people once travelled. On shelter deck there are six cabins in total, all with bunk beds which are mostly 185 cm long. Some cabins are a bit longer than the length of the beds, allowing a bit more space. Should you prefer one of these cabins, we ask you kindly to specify this at the time of booking. There is a toilet close to the cabins, but please note that there are no shower facilities on this deck. The showers can be found on the main deck and the bridge deck.
The shelter deck is the middle deck of the ship and this is also the deck where you come on board. Here you will also find the dining room and the cosy lounge.
