Stay in a warm glass igloo with a 360 degree glass roof providing you with the best opportunity to sleep under the starry skies and hopefully the dancing Northern Lights.
The roof of the Glass Igloo is made from electrically heated glass, which means the glass will not cool the space, but rather maintain the heat while melting all the snow and ice off the roof to give you an excellent view of the sky. In addition, the igloo has underfloor heating and the beds are motorized, making it possible for you to easily adjust the optimal position for sleeping or viewing the arctic sky.
A traditional Finnish Sauna is included during your stay; in common use daily for men & women at 19:00 - 21:00 hrs. The Sauna can also be booked for private use at an additional fee during 10:00 - 00:00 hrs.
Northern Lights watch: There is a guide working all night to see the Northern Lights and guests will be notified through an alarm system if the lights are visible. Simply turn on the alarm button inside your igloo.
In the evening you can enjoy Lappish delicacies, either savoured around ice tables at the Ice Restaurant built of snow and ice providing a unique setting for an unforgettable dinner - or at the warm and cosy Kota Restaurant, which is located on the hotel’s lake shore, next to the lakeside sauna. The blazing fire creates a magical ambiance in the small kota shelter.
The Sky bar is located in the same building as Kota Restaurant. On the ground floor you will find a bar serving cocktails with a local twist along with other drinks and small snacks. The Sky bar opens up in the afternoon and closes late in the evening, When it is dark and the sky is clear, head up to the second floor where you may see the northern lights through the glass roof!
At the Ice Bar you don’t order a drink with ice, you order a drink in ice. A frozen icy glass gives the drinks a totally new dimension and the experience is beyond compare.
The reception area also has a cafeteria and a small gift shop. The building made from massive logs is a magnificent sight in itself.
During your stay you can borrow snowshoes, toboggans and kick sledges free of charge. A visit to the next door Arctic Snowhotel is included as well as a visit to the Snowman World at Santa Claus Village.
