Quality Hotel & Resort Lapland

The Quality Hotel & Resort Lapland (former name Grand Hotel Lapland) is located directly opposite the train station in central Gällivare with spectacular views of Mount Dundret. The hotel was recently extended and refurbished; besides more rooms, the restaurant and pub were completely changed, and a pool and fitness room were added.

The rooms are comfortable and clean with private facilities. All rooms are non-smoking and feature cable TV, telephones, baths/showers, minibar, trouser press, hairdryers, safes, and wireless Internet connection.

The hotel is a natural meeting place in Gällivare as it houses a restaurant with occasional live music, the pub Vassara serving a tasteful á la carte menu made from local products such as game, mushrooms and berries and a nightclub (open Saturdays). The brand new sauna, gym and relaxation have been built above the restaurant. In addition, there is a pool, a wood-fired sauna and an outdoor terrace with bar and barbecue on the roof.

Please note that this is a category 2 hotel.

Hotel rooms in Scandinavia are generally furnished with twin beds, which can be moved together to form a double bed or placed separately (some hotels have double beds though). Unless otherwise specified all rooms have private bathroom facilities, which are often equipped with a shower instead of a bath. Please note that single rooms are generally smaller than doubles. Purpose-built triple or family rooms are likewise unusual in Scandinavian hotels. Whilst it is possible for 3 persons to share a room, this will normally be formed by a double room with an extra bed. As a result space may be restricted.

Unless otherwise clearly specified a standard room/cabin is included in the tour price.
