7E: ATV/Quad Safari to the Russian border

You will drive with the ATV/Quad through the town centre of Kirkenes and stop at the AS Sydvaranger mines, where a short history will be presented before heading on to the Norwegian-Russian border by Skafferhullet/Elvenes.

Meet your guide at the quay in Kirkenes. You will drive with the ATV/Quad through the town centre of Kirkenes and stop at viewpoint overlooking Sydvaranger iron mine, established in the early 20th century. Here, your guide will tell you more about the history of the mine, including its capture, destruction, and subsequent reconstruction during and after WWII. Afterwards you will be heading to the former Norwegian- Russian border by Skafferhullet/Elvenes. At the border, your guide will tell you about the history and culture of the area. Here, the group will takea  break and enjoy a hot drink and snack, within view of a few Russian dwellings and a chapel across the border. There is also the opportunity to buy local souvenirs here. On the way back to the ship, you will drive up Prestfjellet Mountain to admire the stunning panoramic view over the city and the harbour. For this excursion, you will drive in pairs, one pair per quadbike.

Child policy:

20% discount (12-15 years). Not suitable for children under the age of 12 years. Children between 12 and 18 years can join the quad tour as a passenger.

Special conditions: Minimum 2 participants. If travelling alone, you can still book this experience as there might be other travellers participating. Driver license is required to drive a quad, driver has to be over 18.
