Aurora Sky Station with exclusive dinner in Abisko

Welcome to Aurora Sky Station - one of the best places in the world to see the Northern Lights! At an altitude of 900 metres you will be served a set 3-course dinner inspired by the Lappish and Nordic cuisine. 

The evening starts with a beautiful chairlift ride up to the Aurora Sky Station. Your eyes will gradually get used to the completely dark sky and soon you will see more stars than ever before. Here in the middle of the spectacular Abisko National Park, there is no artificial light or sound that disturb. Across the sky, you can sometimes see the Northern Lights as a green, pink or white glow. It changes quickly and sometimes look like drapes across the sky.

At the Aurora Sky Station a set 3-course dinner with northern flavours and Swedish culinary traditions will be served from 19:00-21:00 hrs. With the sounds of the crackling fire, a magnificent view of Abisko National Park and a good chance to experience the Northern Lights, this is surely an experience out of the ordinary. 

After dinner your guide will explain more about the Northern Lights and you will go on a guided walk on the mountain Nuolja. You will also have the opportunity to look for the Auroras on your own and to take photos. Warm drinks are included during your visit.

Daily, the chairlift runs from 18:00 hrs.

7 hours (open from 18:00 to 01:00 hrs).

Child policy:

No child discounts available. Minimum 16 years to join.

Included:

Warm overall, return ticket by chair-lift, 3-course dinner, warm drinks and two guided tours.

Please note:

Clothing: We recommend that you bring warm winter clothes. Please be informed that the overalls are only available in adult sizes.

Weather dependent: The Aurora Sky Station may be closed at short notice due to weather conditions (strong winds, extremely cold temperatures, blizzars etc.). In this case an alternative Aurora Lounge program will come into effect. The Aurora Lounge program replaces the visit of the Aurora Sky Station and the amount charged for the scheduled visit of the Aurora Sky Station will not be refunded. 

Aurora Lounge program: Exclusive dinner is served in the Aurora Lounge at STF Mountain Station. After dinner, the guide will explain more about aurora borealis in the show room connected to the Aurora Lounge. You will receive a guided tour in the Abisko National Park. During the evening you have the opportunity to join more guided hikes. There is a wood fire burning in a traditional Sami tent (teepee) close to the Aurora Lounge where warm drinks are offered free of charge.

Northern Lights: Northern Lights observations are never guaranteed, sometimes it can be repeated several times during one evening and sometimes it simply stays away. Northern Lights observations are weather dependent; it needs to be clear sky in order to spot the Northern Lights.
