Special blue ice hike at Nigardsbreen

Join in on an exciting and challenging 4-hour guided glacier hike with top-rope ice climbing at the Nigardsbreen Glacier. Visit ice caves, stunning ice towers, and deep blue crevasses. 

If you would like to experience a more challenging glacier hike, this long glacier hike including top-rope ice climbing on the Nigardsbreen glacier might just be right for you.

The adventure starts with a 5–10 minute boat trip, followed by a walk up to the glacier. In a small group and together with professional glacier guides and the right equipment you will explore the most spectacular parts of the Nigardsbreen Glacier. You will climb an almost vertical ice wall or rappel into a crevasse and climb out again. Therefore, a good fitness level is required and experience with ice climbing is an advantage.

Departure:

Monday to Saturday from the parking ground by the Nigardsbreen Lake (meeting point by the equipment depot "GUIDE").

Duration:

Approximately 4 hours on the ice, 6.5 hours in total.

English.

Child policy:

No child discount. This activity is not suitable for children under the age of 12.

Included:

Glacier equipment and entrance to the exhibition at Breheimsenteret.

Please note:

Very good fitness level is required and experience with ice climbing is an advantage.

What to bring: Gloves, warm wind- and waterproof clothing, sunglasses, lunch package, and hiking boots. The clothing must cover the whole body (no shorts or skirts without leggings).
