The excursion starts in Bergen, where you will continue by boat and bus to Folgefonna ski center, located 1,250 meters above sea level. A glacier guide team will be welcoming you. Folgefonna is Norway’s third-largest glacier and from the top, you can see large areas of the Hardangervidda mountain plateau.
During the guided 4,5-hour hike you will get close to nature and the culture and history of this beautiful area. The experienced glacier guides will make sure that you have a safe and enjoyable trip. After the hike, the bus will be waiting at the Folgefonna ski center to take you back to Bergen.
Main season: Daily from June 27 - August 11.
Shoulder season: June 15 - June 25 and August 12 - September 15.

You must dress for a mountain hike. Use good shoes/mountain boots, rainwear/windcheater, and trousers. It is also possible to borrow equipment and rent gear at the center for an additional cost.
Kindly note that during the shoulder season, the itinerary will differ to the standard tour. This means that the boat from Norheimsund on the Hardangerfjord has been replaced by a bus that runs directly to Jondal. No stops along the way.
It cannot be guaranteed that this excursion is available daily. We therefore recommend to have several days in Bergen to increase chances of participating in this trip.
