Experience a cruise with Hurtigruten from Kirkenes to Bergen during wintertime: Exotic winter activities in the north, beautiful winter scenery during the cruise and the Hanseatic city of Bergen at the end of the cruise. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Book before Apr. 20 – up to 20% off
Hurtigruten is currently running a campaign with up to 20% reduction on the voyages Bergen-Kirkenes and Kirkenes-Bergen when booking before April 20. This offer is valid for travel in 2017, and does not apply for existing bookings or for any other services relating to the cruise booking.
Kindly observe however that Hurtigruten uses dynamic pricing; instead of offering set prices Hurtigruten will decide the price for the cruise based on the capacity level onboard each ship/departure at the time of booking. This means that the 20% price reduction applies to the current price for a selection of departures (not including departures with limited availability), and not the prices specified on our website. Please contact us for the best available price.
This tour can commence in: Kirkenes
Arrival in Kirkenes according to your own itinerary. We recommend combining the southbound cruise with a stay in Oslo, the capital of Norway. Also recommendable is an overnight at Kirkenes Ice Hotel.
At noon your Hurtigruten cruise adventure will start. The southbound journey will bring you from Kirkenes and along the western coastline of Norway to Bergen. During the cruise you will experience everyday life along the coast, and the mix of tourists, local travelers and transported goods make this a unique experience. You will spend 5 nights onboard, with breakfast buffet, lunch buffet and dinner included. You also have the possibility to go on shore excursions, which can be booked in advance or onboard the ship. Please see Add-ons for further details.
Arrival in Hammerfest, the first town in Norway to have electric street lighting. As early as 1891, residents could enjoy fully lit streets during the winter darkness. Possibility to join the optional Arctic Energy short excursion. The journey continues south-west towards Tromsø, where you arrive late in the evening.
Morning arrival in Harstad before the journey continues along Vesterålen Islands to Lofoten Islands. As an alternative you can join an optional shore excursion across the Vesterålen Islands to Sortland. From Sortland the cruise continues through the spectacular Raftsundet sound, taking you from Vesterålen to Lofoten. Arrival in Svolvær, the capital of the Lofoten Islands, before dinnertime. Spend the hour-long stop exploring the quays or visit the Magic Ice Museum. Another posibility is to join the optional Viking Feast at Lofotr Viking Museum. The last stop for the day is Stamsund, a fishing station built into the rock, almost in defiance of nature. It is now one of the largest fishing stations in Lofoten.
Cruise along the dramatic Helgeland coastline. Numerous legends and stories are associated with this coastline. One such story is about the Seven Sisters and Torghatten Mountain and how they came to be such unusual shapes.
Early morning arrival in Trondheim, where you will have time at leisure until departure at 10 o’clock. Enjoy a little of the city’s culture, architecture and history. Departure along the Trondheimsfjord and Trondheimsleia channel, before continuing southwards to Kristiansund and Molde. Kristiansund is the home of dried fish production while Molde is known for its breathtaking location with panoramic views of the 222 partly snow-clad mountain peaks (Romsdal Alps).
The last part of the cruise includes magnificent fjord- and archipelago scenery, before the ship arrives in Bergen at 14:30 hrs. Departure from Bergen according to your own itinerary, or perhaps you would like to combine the cruise with one of our fjord tours? The fjords are a unique experience during the winter, cruising through the quiet landscape to the sound of the cracking ice. We recommend the Norway in a Nutshell tour or Nordic Capitals & Fjords.
