Breakfast at the hotel. A local guide will meet you at the hotel and take you for a 3-hour sightseeing tour of Copenhagen. Famous sights include the Royal Amalienborg Palace, Christiansborg Palace (Danish Parliament Buildings), Gefion Fountain, Nyhavn, and of course the famous Little Mermaid. The afternoon is at your own leisure to explore the city. Entrance to the Tivoli Gardens is included. Accommodation at Admiral Hotel. Please note that dinner today is not included in the programme, as Copenhagen offers a wide selection of restaurants to choose between. Your tour escort will gladly assist with table reservations.
Breakfast at the hotel. The morning is at your own leisure before the afternoon transfer from your hotel to the DFDS Seaways terminal. At 17:00 hrs you will depart Copenhagen by an overnight ferry ferry to Oslo. Scandinavian buffet dinner onboard. Accommodation in a 2-berth outside cabins with shower/WC. We recommend that you bring an overnight bag for this cruise, to avoid having to carry suitcases to and from your cabin. A delicious buffet breakfast is being served as you cruise along the Oslo Fjord. Arrival in Oslo at 09.30 hours, followed by a 3-hour guided tour of the Norwegian capital including the impressive Vigeland Sculpture Park. Dinner and accommodation at Radisson BLU Plaza Hotel, centrally located close to the railway station, the Opera House and Karl Johan shopping street. Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the famous Viking Ship Museum before departing Oslo. You will drive via Hønefoss along the charming Halling Valley to the mountain village of Geilo. Buffet lunch at Bardøla Mountain Hotel. After lunch the journey continues across the wild Hardanger Mountain Plateau to Fossli, where you will make a stop to view the thundering Vøringsfoss Waterfall with a vertical drop of 180 metres, the highest in Norway. Descend the amazing Måbødal Canyon to the idyllic Hardangerfjord and cross the fjord over Norway's longest suspension bridge. Dinner and accommodation at Brakanes Hotel, ideally located on the banks of the fjord.
After breakfast at the hotel, you leave Ulvik and follow a scenic drive along the beautiful Hardangerfjord, famous for its many fruit orchards. You pass by the towns of Øystese and Norheimsund before arriving in Bergen around midday. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon you will experience Bergen on a 2-hour sightseeing tour, including a visit to the popular Fish and Flower Market, the famous Bryggen Harbour with its gabled pack houses, and the old Hanseatic Quarter. A ride with Fløibanen cable car up to Mount Fløyen will show you the best views of the city and the surrounding mountains and fjords. Dinner on your own. Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from Bergen and drive via Dale to the town of Voss. Continue on the famous Bergen railway from Voss to Myrdal. Board your train for an exhilarating ride on the amazing Flåm Railway, a masterpiece of engineering descending 2.838 feet in less than one hour. The descent from Myrdal to fjord village of Flåm offers opportunities for photo shots of some exciting waterfalls and mountain scenery.
After a short rest in Flåm, the tour continues with a 2-hour cruise along the narrow Aurlands and Nærøy Fjords, both branches of the Sognefjord, the longest and deepest fjord in the world. From the sun deck or the comfortable lounge, you can enjoy the spectacular scenery of cascading waterfalls, sheer mountain cliffs, snow-clad peaks, and a variety of wildlife. After disembarking in Gudvangen at the head of the Nærøyfjord, your coach will be waiting for you to take you up through the amazing Stalheim Canyonand the Nærøy Valley. Continue across the Vika Mountains to Vangsnes for the short ferry crossing to the beautiful resort of Balestrand. Breakfast at the hotel. This day is at your own leisure, giving you the opportunity to enjoy the outstanding beauty and nature of the fjords. The day starts with a traditional Norwegian buffet breakfast in the hotel’s elegant dining room. You may want to spend the morning relaxing on the hotel terrace, breathing in the fresh mountain air and enjoying the spectacular views. We can also recommend a visit to the local aquarium and art gallery, or you may prefer to rent a bike or rowing boat from the hotel, or even go on foot up to the nearest mountains. A walking tour of the village of Balestrand with its historic buildings and other interesting sites or a boat tour to Fjærland and the glaciers nearby can also be arranged by the tour leader. After breakfast departure from your hotel by coach, first on a short ferry crossing from Dragsvik to Hella, then along the scenic route on the northern side of the Sognefjord to Sogndal. The tour continues to Fjærland, passing under the Jostedal Glacier, the largest in Europe, to the village of Skei at the northern end of beautiful Lake Jølster. Descend to the beautiful Nordfjord, making a detour at Olden to visit the world-famous Briksdal Glacier. The journey up to the glacier will be made in open cars to give you the best views. Afterward a typical Norwegian lunch will be served in sight of the glacier. During the afternoon the tour continues via Loen and Stryn to the picturesque village of Hellesylt. From here you go on board the ferry for a one hour cruise along the spectacular Geirangerfjord, possibly the most impressive of all the Norwegian fjords. During the cruise you will pass close by some magnificent waterfalls, such as the Bridal Veil and the Seven Sisters. From the top of the famous Serpentine Road, you have the possibility to digest the amazing view of the fjord, before crossing the rugged Grotli Mountains to Lom, well known for its stave church. The tour continues via Lake Vågå, before descending the magnificent Gudbrandsdalen Valley to the Olympic town of Lillehammer. Stop for lunch in Lillehammer.
