Accommodation in Östersund.

Day 03: Inland Railway from Östersund to Arvidsjaur

Breakfast at the hotel. Early morning departure on the Inland Railway to Arvidsjaur. This unique railway will bring you through inland Sweden, with remote lakes, dense forests and mountains. Onboard the train you will find knowledgeable hosts who will provide information about places of interest on the route. Today you will enter the province Lapland. This is the largest province in Sweden, and it stretches from just south of Vilhelmina up to the Finnish and Norwegian borders. From your train window you will see stunning landscapes of lakes, deep forests and wild mountains. On the way the train will make two stops to visit the historical station house in Storuman and the Inland Railway museum in Sorsele. In Arvidsjaur you can join a guided tour at 6 pm at the Sami village Lappstaden; the largest preserved Sami village in the world with around 80 cots and barns from late eighteenth century. Accommodation in Arvidsjaur.

Day 04: Inland Railway from Arvidsjaur to Gällivare

Breakfast at the hotel. The region surrounding Arvidsjaur has more than 12 000 lakes and 30 000 reindeer. Today it is possible to join a guided walking tour along the Nasa trail, a walk in Sami footsteps. You will walk through large forests and along numerous small lakes in the magical wilderness. In the afternoon you will continue your journey with the Inland Railway. Before reaching the village Jokkmokk the train crosses the Arctic Circle where it makes a stop. Continuing the journey the train travels through the World Heritage Site Laponia; which includes four national parks and two nature reserves stretching over an impressive 9400 square kilometers of cultural wilderness where the Sami people have lived and worked since the Ice Age. Day 06: Cruise departure with Hurtigruten to Lofoten

Breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a cruise with Hurtigruten along the spectacular Norwegian coastline towards Bergen. Hurtigruten is often referred to as the world’s most beautiful sea voyage, and it is a journey through history and maritime culture. Today you will cruise along Vesterålen Islands to Lofoten Islands passing narrow sounds, steep mountains, and sandy beaches and fishing villages. The highlight of today's cruise is the spectacular Raftsundet sound, which connects the Vesterålen Islands with the Lofoten Islands. Arrival in Svolvær before dinnertime. Svolvær, the undisputed capital of the Lofoten Islands, is easily identified by the towering Svolværgeita Mountain. The last stop for the day is Stamsund, a fishing station built into the rock, almost in defiance of nature. It is now one of the largest fishing stations in Lofoten. Dinner and accommodation onboard.

Day 07: Cruise along the Helgeland Coast

Breakfast onboard. Cruise along the Helgeland coastline with no more than 1000 islands and numerous fishing hamlets. This stretch passes the Arctic Circle. Numerous legends and stories are associated with this coastline. One such story is about the Seven Sisters and Torghatten Mountain and how they came to be such unusual shapes. A myth about the beautiful sisters tells of how they ran away from their father, King Sulis, and danced naked in the waters of the fjord. Unfortunately, the sisters forgot that when the sun rose they would all be turned into stone. Now they stand there, all in a row, as captivating and lovely as ever before. Dinner and accommodation onboard.

Day 08: Cruise to Trondheim - Kristiansund - Molde

Early morning arrival in Trondheim. Time at leisure until departure at 10 o’clock. Enjoy some of the city’s culture, architecture and history. Departure through the Trondheimfjord and along Trondheimsleia channel, before continuing southwards to Kristiansund and Molde. Kristiansund is the home of dried fish production while Molde is known for its breathtaking location with panoramic views of the 222 partly snow-clad mountain peaks (Romsdal Alps). Possibility to join an optional shore excursion by bus along the Atlantic Ocean Road. Dinner and accommodation onboard.

Attractions in Bergen include the Hanseatic Bryggen Harbour, the Fløibanen Funicular, which takes you up to a height of 320 metres above sea level where you are presented with a great view over the city, Grieg’s home Troldhaugen, the Fish and Flower Market or the Bergen Aquarium.
