We had a wonderful time in Scandinavia. Our hotels were very clean and central, and the ferry was excellent fun. The itinerary you sent us was also very useful.

The trip planning was marvelous. The hotels in Oslo and Bergen were excellent and the travel plans worked wonderfully well. The hotel in Geilo did not come to meet me at the train but your good guide provided me with the phone number so I was able to find a phone to call them. Even the weather cooperated during my visit. It had been cloudy before we got on the boat at Flam but the sun came out and added to the beauty of the setting. It was a remarkable trip.

We enjoyed very much our stay in Norway. Wonderful and impressive landscape! And nice people. Everything was well organized, and the hotels were good. Only one remark: Could you tell before that there is a swimming pool and a sauna in Bardola hotel in Geilo? Fortunately we got our swimming costume, so we could enjoy and relax. And also a gastronomic restaurant (so important for French people). In Geilo station, nobody was waiting for us, we took a taxi which was paid by the hotel: no problem. Everything was perfect (but life is quite expensive).

We are just back to the usual pile of post and emails. When all settles down we will reflect on a wonderful holiday in your beautiful country.

I can only praise everything about the holiday, the hotels, friendly staff, stunning scenery, and most of all your swift reaction to our initial travel disruption. We toasted your health at the dinner so kindly offered by yourself.

Hi Trude, thank you. We had a wonderful time in Scandinavia and were very pleased with all the arrangements. Mind you we expected nothing less, due to your efficiency prior to our leaving! We were happy with everything. The only comment we would make is the choice of the First Hotel Vesterbro. Being Australian of course we look for more of an old world feeling so it would have been nice to have been located in the old town. A very small point really.

We were impressed with the developments taking place in Oslo and the care taken connecting new developments to the harbour. The Opera House was a standout too. Sorry we didn't get the chance to meet. We will recommend Authentic Scandinavia to others. Many thanks.

The hotels were great and with fantastic locations, we visited the Viking ships, folk museum, Opera house and Ida in Oslo, Balestrand was the most magic place and Bergen was also splendid. I would like to begin with a huge THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our vacation was as close to perfect as you can get, even the weather -of which no one has control of. Your company did a fantastic job of planning and coordinating, which insured an enjoyable and stress free vacation. Everything was as we had planned. We are SO VERY PLEASED with our choice of your company and the package we chose. We were a bit unsure of the "independent" travel, but it was easier to navigate than expected and definitely suited our travel personalities. The fjord adventure was a perfect match for us, the bike ride was one of our favorite things and the scenery on this leg of our journey was some of the very best on our trip. While in Voss we scheduled a kayak trip, which was also fantastic. We enjoyed being off the beaten path.

The Clarion in Oslo was a very nice hotel as were all the hotels you booked us in. Except for Fleischer’s, they all gave us an upgrade to a spacious suite or double room, which was very nice. We were so pleased that you booked us in the Radisson next to the airport. At the end of our journey we were tired and that was so convenient.

We were very glad that we had planned out all the details of our trip - the activities, accommodations etc. and pre paid them. It would have been overwhelming if we had to figure out everything once we got there. We also realize that group tours are not our style and we liked the freedom of independent touring, but liked the fact it was still all planned out in a way.

The Hurtigruten cruise was a fantastic experience. The ship was great and the scenery was unbelievable. We enjoyed our chosen excursions. The meal times on the ships were a bit unorganized and hectic. That would be the only negative of the whole trip but that is really insignificant.

My husband has already written to you saying how much we enjoyed our Scandinavian holiday. I would like to add my appreciation for the meticulous instructions you gave us as to how to find our hotels etc. It was impossible to make a mistake. Everything was so clearly explained and every detail clarified. We were impressed by the cleanliness of all the Scandinavian capitals so unlike the position in London today. Also the super efficiency of the public transport systems was most impressive.

We found the cost of food very high and even more so wine which is so inexpensive and of such a high standard in South Africa. We noticed that some our less good varieties were sold there at astonishingly high prices.

We found the people in all three countries so friendly and helpful when we asked for directions. The service industry likewise was first class. Denmark, Norway and Sweden must have some of the finest scenery in the world and the architecture was quite lovely.

The architecture and ambience of the three cities is profoundly beautiful; Bergen is a delight. The scenery of Norway was breath-taking. We were fortunate that we had rain on only for a few hours one morning while in Scandinavia.

All the hotels you chose were excellent in location and facilities. Form your detailed step-by-step instructions we never needed to hesitate as to what we should do next.

Of your creative planning and meticulous organization I have nothing to say except "thank you".

The trip was fabulous from beginning to end! We had perfect weather except for some rain the night we were in Geilo; otherwise, blue sky and sun were the order of the day. Our accommodations were both convenient and comfortable and the hotel staff most pleasant and helpful. The itinerary which you had set up worked like clockwork. What can one say about the breakfast buffets---everything one could want, beautifully displayed and scrumptious! We were quick shocked at the cost of restaurant dining; perhaps suggestions about more reasonable restaurants would be a helpful addition to the itinerary.

I had two experiences that made me appreciate the honesty of some Scandinavians. In Oslo I discovered that my camera was missing and when I retraced my steps found that it had been turned in at the Munch Museum Cafe. Please be sure to convey my thanks to them for helping to confirm my faith in the goodness of people! The other experience in Stockholm had a happy ending, too. The hotel had called a cab for our transfer to the airport and gave us a confirmation number. When the cabbie began to load our luggage into his vehicle, a hotel employee ran out to stop him since he was one of those cab drivers you had warned us about who would have grossly overcharged us. Our cab came while the "cheater" was there and a loud "disagreement" took place. We were so glad that both the hotel and our rightful cabbie were "on top of things".

We have traveled quite extensively in the U.S. and Europe and would not hesitate to recommend "Authentic Scandinavia" to anyone. We enjoyed the independence it gave us to see the things we wanted to see and not feel like a member of a herd being shuffled about. We used public transportation as well as lots of walking to get us places and the fact that English is spoken and understood everywhere helped us too.

Brian and I have returned from our memorable Scandinavian vacation. We visited family in Denmark in addition to seing majestic Norway and the beautiful city of Stockholm. We want to say a heartfelt thank you to you and to "Authentic Scandinavia" for the wonderful "Fjord Plus Stockholm" tour. The itinerary and the arrangements made were completely accurate. The written instructions were easy to follow, and they always led us to where we needed to be during each phase of the tour. The incredible beauty of the valleys and mountains of Norway, with their endless waterfalls and lakes, is a memory we will always have.

Whenever we asked people along the way for directions and information, unfailingly they were very friendly, thorough, and above all, accurate. We noticed that everyone took the time to get out a map and to say , "You are here and here is where you need to go." Several times we were allowed to take the map with us. We feel befriended by the native Norwegians (and Swedes and Danes, too.)

We would like to particularly thank you for arranging our stays very near the central stations of each city. This was very convenient for us, saving time and money. We really enjoyed our accommodation at the Thon Opera Hotel in Oslo. This is one of the finest, if not the finest, hotels in Scandinavia. There is a minor issue which we would like to draw your attention to. It was our understanding that the hotels at all locations would have twin beds. This was true for the Bardola in Geilo and the Thon Opera in Oslo. However, this was not true for the Grand Hotel in Bergen and for the Rica Stockholm in Stockholm. To be fair, there were separate sets of bedsheets even though there was one bed.

Again, Brian and I want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to "Authentic Scandinavia" for making our first European vacation so exciting and memorable. We already are mentioning our positive experience with "Authentic Scandinavia" to family and friends.

Thank you for your email, indeed we had a GREAT time in Scandinavia, except that we didn't expect to experience the hottest summer in Helsinki in 60 years. Indeed we took around 3,000 photos, yet we weren't able to capture all the beauty of Scandinivia. For sure we'll visit again to explore more as we had yet the time to go to the very north to see midnight sun and visiting Santa Claus.

Without your well organized schedule, the trip will not be as enjoyable and hassels free as it was. The connection of the transportation was thawless, no time was wasted on commuting between places. The slightly higher price that we paid for more upgraded hotel was well deserved. The location were very thoughtfully selected that commuting to train stations or ferry terminal was very direct. The healthy, full-of-selection breakfast at the hotels could supply enough energy to last us until dinner ---- saving money on lunch!!! One thing we must not forget to mention is your efficient arrangement to transfer our luggage from Bergen to Oslo with less than 1 day notice.

One suggestion we would like to make is that when recommend the point of visit in the itinerary, please include the bus/train number from the hotel to the point of visit so it is easier for us to find the way.

All in all, this "Scandinavia in a nut shell" experience is unforgettable, and we are already planning our "in depth" visit in the near future.

Last but not the least, we don't expect people living in such cold countries to be so warm and helpful!

It's a coincidence that this morning I started to go through hundreds of emails that piled up on my computer over the last eight weeks and found yours to be the most recent. You asked how we enjoyed the tour; I could sum it all up and say it was marvelous. My wife and I have traveled all over Europe during the 13 years we lived in Germany but we never got to Norway. That was a shame because Georgia's grandmother was 100% Norwegian from the area near Lier. The arrangements you made for us were excellent. From the Hotel Opera across from the train station to every other hotel and transportation connection everything worked perfectly. We were impressed with the warm welcome we received at each hotel and found the accommodations to be super. We especially appreciated the nice breakfast buffets at each hotel. Your suggestions for side trips were great. Needless to say we got some really fine photos. I have to add that we were blessed with sunny weather almost every day. I think that was unusual for us in that we had been warned to expect lots of rain. It was drizzling the morning our flight arrived in Oslo but that gave way to sunshine when we started a city tour. The only day during the tour that it rained hard was the morning we departed Bergen. We took a cab from the hotel to the bus station. It poured down during our bus trip to the boat connection at Norheimsund but by the time we reached Ulvik we had sunny weather again. The only sad part of the trip was Aunt Katy's emergency surgery that prevented her from joining us; but we overcame that by bringing my oldest daughter Dawn along with us. I have already highly recommended your organization and the professional way you responded to all our needs. Thank you again for everything,

We had the most wonderful time in Scandinavia! The beautiful cities, their rich history and the breathtaking scenery (especially with "Norway in a Nutshell") are captivating and definitely worth going back to! We love to go where the water is on our vacations and the Scandinavian cities have lots of it! Also, it was so amazing how one can conveniently travel across all three countries without having to drive your own car. The accommodations were nice, except perhaps the First Hotel Vesterbro in Copenhagen, that just did not come up to the quality of the other accommodations. The Thon Opera Hotel in Oslo had the nicest room, of course, although the breakfast in Clarion Hotel Sign in Stockholm beats them all in the breakfast category. Location-wise, you couldn't have made the hotel choices any better! Thank you also for arranging the extra hotel accommodations in Stockholm for us and for the information on flights from Bergen to Arlanda.

It is good to know who to contact next time we vacation in Scandinavia. Thanks again! One suggestion (not that important but would be nice to have) is perhaps to give tourists some information on suggested good places to eat in these destinations preferably close to the hotel or major places of interest. That will just save time for people looking and deciding where to go especially in places where dining choices abound and for people who like to experience the culinary aspects of the place.

We had a great trip thankfully well planned by your company. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Scandinavia and have already passed on the detailed itinerary to two friends for future consideration! The hotels were great and very conveniently located to the attractions and public transport! We enjoyed the cities but as rural people the highlights were the Flam railway, restful Flam itself and the Fjord cruise! Your tour has just the right combination of city time and countryside exposure especially as a first visit so don’t change anything!

We are already looking at a return to Norway sometime in the future but this time we will rent a car and spend more time seeing the beautiful countryside.

My daughter Lydia and I had a wonderful time on our visit to Norway. We cannot compliment you and Authenic Scandinavia enough. The transportation was exactly right, the hotel accommodations were excellent and perfectly located for us to see and do everything we wanted to do. We do not care for guided tours, we prefer to walk every where and discover things on our own. The Thon Opera was just right there across from the opera house. My daughter is an architect and urban designer. She must have taken hundreds of photos of just the opera house (she took literally thousands of photos of everything else on our trip.) She lives in Seattle, which is a sister city to Bergen, so everything there was very interesting to us.

The weather was a little rainy and a little foggy on the bus ride to Geiranger, but, we loved it anyway. So beautiful. The best part of the whole trip was the people of Norway. Every where we went we met warm, friendly, (and beautiful) people, who laughed with us as we tried to learn the language, and then chatted with us in perfect English. Are all Norwegian children blonde and blue-eyed at birth? They seemed to be. It is a very beautiful country, filled with beautiful people and we could not have enjoyed ourselves more.

Thanks for the email. Everything was really excellent. The trains, ships and buses were all absolutely punctual and all the connections worked well. The were times where there very close connection times with only a few minutes before the connections left so left little time for delays. As there were none it was not an issue. What could have been done if there had been delays and the connection was missed? The trains and buses were excellent, clean and well appointed with excellent service. The hotels were all clean and very comfortable and well located and staff helpful and polite. The Oslo card was excellent value and easily paid for itself. The itinerary was well balanced and gave a good view of the varying countryside. Highlights were the rail trips especially the ones from Bergen to Oslo and the Rauma railway.

The other highlight was the hotel at Geiranger. The location was delightful and the cruise on the MS Lofoten a lovely way to see the scenery. It was particularly nice to see how easy it was to get gluten free meals at the restaurants. For anyone such as me with this as a dietary problem food on holiday can present a real problem. All hotels were able to provide bread suitable for coeliacs and all the restaurants were able to offer sauces that were free from gluten. Should you be asked this question again by anyone booking you will be able to reassure them that it will not present a problem. All I had to do was explain the need to have the meal free from any gluten containing products and it was done. Being able to eat and knowing that it would be safe to do so really made the difference. The food was at all times of a high standard no matter where we ate. I hope the above is useful and if there is anything you would like to discuss in any further detail I would be happy to do so.

Truly, thanks a million for your arrangements. Everything went so smooth, the weather was so beautiful, the places of interest were awesome and magnificent, in particular, the people were so warm and friendly. We were so impressed with the hotels, in terms of room size and convenience. We were extremely happy with the Clarion Hotel Sign in Stockholm (very spacious and contemporary), Thon Hotel Opera in Oslo (spacious and splendid), Framsbrygga Hotel in Fram (newly renovated, cosy with a sense of tranquillity) and First Hotel Marin in Bergen (very spacious, comfortable and extremely convenient). The breakfast of all hotels were superior and of great choices. Both inter and intra country transportation were easy and we didn't have many problems in getting around. We tried the best restaurants in each city (Sundmans in Helsinki, Grand Hotel Stockholm smorgasbord, Lofoten in Oslo, Enhjørningen in Bergen), the food was so gorgeous though a bit expensive. The train and bus tour from Oslo to Bergen was marvellous and our own excursion to Legoland brought us lots of fun. Trude, this trip really gave us very sweet memories and wonderful experiences of Scandinavia. Your kind arrangements and detailed information certainly are keys to success. The directions provided to the destinations were clear and easy to follow. The Grand Hotel was amazingly situated outside the train station, and the Flam hotel was especially gorgeous with its view of the fjord.
The hotels were comfortable with friendly staff, good service, and delicious breakfasts.
The trains had plenty of leg room, and the ferries were a relaxing break.
We enjoyed the freedom of traveling independently without being part of a huge tour group.

The Scandinavians generally speak very good English, so communication was not a problem.
We felt safe the entire time traveling through the Scandinavian countries.

The only updates would be the prices listed for bus fares; everything has gone up slightly in price.
My husband states that he would have preferred to leave Flam earlier than 3pm, arriving before 8:30pm in Bergen. But on the whole, we had a lovely time and are thrilled to have seen such beautiful and unique countries.

We had an exceptionally wonderful time in Norway. The people are so nice and everyone took such good care of Mr. Hauchman who is disabled. The food was delicious and the hotels truly remarkably wonderful. All in all it was so great that my husband and I are coming back next year. We want to rent a vacation home around Bergen or the Sognefjord areas. Do you know anyone who deals with such rentals? Again, thank you so much for arranging this exceptional trip. My mother was thrilled about her birthday present.

Trude, The trip was fantastic! The itinerary was perfect, accommodations superb, all transportation clean and efficient. The time allotment at the different sites was just right. The hotel in Bergen is in a perfect location to walk to the harbor, site see, restaurants, etc. The hotel in Balestrand is nice and the service is wonderful at both the restaurant and in general. They offer a nice service of holding and bringing your luggage to the ferry so that you do not have to take your luggage with you on the day-trips. Obviously, the scenery and fjords are just stunning. We had a great trip - cannot think of a better itinerary. Thanks for your help in organizing everything for us.

Joyce and I thoroughly enjoyed the few days that we spent, from Oslo to Flåm, to Balestrand, and to Bergen. We especially enjoyed the Bergen railway, the Flåm railway and the trip to Fjærland. Your selection of hotels was perfect; we had possibly the best meal we have ever had at the magnificent Kviknes Hotel in Balestrand (amongst the jazz enthusiasts), but your choice of the Augustin in Bergen was also good, especially as we arrived in Bergen with high winds and rain, and needed a hotel near to Strandkaien!

But I would also mention that your itinerary guide was comprehensive and very clear on where to go and how to find the various travel points. Everything worked perfectly, and it really removed all the stress from our journey.

Thank you for your welcome back mail. We had a truly fantastic holiday in Norway and were overwhelmed by your magnificent scenery and great weather. Everything went according to plan and we found our guide and driver very friendly, professional and informative. The hotels were all very comfortable and we really enjoyed the great views from each room. The only glitch we had was that the taxi driver did not arrive to Bergen station to pick us up and instead went to the airport! We waited for 20 minutes and then got a taxi to the hotel ourselves. Anne-Marie our guide gave us a reimbursement immediately and gave the feedback to the taxi company. The train journey from Oslo to Bergen was also great and was a part of the trip that we wouldn't have missed. Thank you for all your help.

It was absolutely as described. I gather you are a friend of Christina’s and know you all work in a network, but have to say, what a marvelous network. Everything was fine — we did have rather a fun time checking in with Norwegian at Gatwick but all went well in the end.

I am definitely going back to Findebotten. What a fantastic place and lovely people, but you need to warn folk to starve before they go! Seriously everything was like clockwork, (not something I have appreciated before), and delivered as you predicted.

We had a great time in Norway. Its a beautiful country with fabulous scenery and we were lucky enough to see the northern lights!

Everything that you arranged ran like clockwork and according to plan. The Hurtigruten ship was lovely and much more luxurious than we expected. I would definitely recommend a few days on board as it is a great way to travel and see more of the country, even though I did get sea sick!. We enjoyed all of the activities, especially the snow mobiling which was brilliant.

My friend and I thanked you very much for the arrangement you've made. Although we didn't see the northern light but it was perfect! We regretted that we didn't stay longer in Tromso or to stay overnight in either Kirkenes or Honningsvag. Also we didn't buy the alcohol in Oslo airport duty free shop as soon as we arrived. It was unbelievable expensive. Perhaps you can give this as a hint to the next fellow travellers?

Just wanted to let you know we had a fabulous time in Norway. The trip went smoothly and we really enjoyed the quality of the accommodation, the hotel staff were all extremely helpful, Rica Victoria in Lillehammer on Christmas Eve were great, the dinner was awesome, well done to the staff who kindly stayed to serve us all, our first ever white Christmas.

The Northern lights came out briefly at Eric's farm near Tromsø, they are wonderful hosts. We had a hoot dog sledding, incredibly cold but it was lovely to warm up with a warm fire and a hot meal, my children laugh at the video of the sound and sight of 250 dogs sounding off on our arrival all anxious to go for a run. The cruise was luxurious and it was a lot of fun having a hot jacuzzi on deck in freezing conditions, thank goodness for the sauna, lucky us!

We were very fortunate with the weather being able to get around and investigate lots of places and seeing the gorgeous Northern Lights twice, the people were very polite, patient and friendly, especially with our English, a real credit to the strength of your nation.

We have many, many beautiful photos and wonderful memories so hope to return someday! Thanks for all your help, we'll certainly let friends know about your company if they head your way.

Thon Opera was an ideal hotel well placed for arrival from the airport and good for expeditions around Oslo, the Oslo Pass was most useful and allowed us ten museum visits and frequent bus, tram and T-bane trips. We had two very successful days in Tromso in a great hotel, so thank you for your choice.
The Hurtigruten was a real experience and being on one of the oldest boats was really top-class, even though the cabins were a bit noisy! It was excellent to have such a close connection with the crew and access to the open wings for viewing the lights. The food and general attention to detail by the staff was really good.

The accommodation at Veines, Kongsfjord was really excellent, the pick up worked at 22.30 and we we soon in a glorious, well provided room at the guest house. Margarita's cooking and concern for our welfare was exemplary and we really felt special. The snow shoe-ing with Line Leistad was tremendous, she provided everything we needed down to the chocolate and hot drinks and took us on a breathtaking walk around the peninsular, supplying us with photos later by email. the area is beautiful at this time of year and we borrowed kick sledges to travel into the local village. Our trip back to Bervelag to meet the second boat was accompanied by a fine Lights display so we felt very privileged. An excellent venue which we can not praise highly enough, the attention to detail at the guest house was six-star, food was immaculately prepared from the freshest ingredients with love and attention and Margarita always had time for a chat, supported by Luigi, her husband.
The hotel, Thon in Kirkenes was again top class, staff were always ready to help and organise our excursions. We had a particularly good dog sledding afternoon with Sollia Gjestegard and Steffan, the chief dog musher. He really took care of us and ensured that we had a great expedition into the wilderness on the Russian border. Transit back through Oslo worked well and we really had a first class holiday so many thanks for all your work at Authentic Scandinavia in supplying us with such a great experience in Norway.
