Day 01: Arrival in Oslo, the capital of Norway

Arrival in Oslo according to your own itinerary. The Norwegian capital is beautifully situated at the head of the Oslo Fjord and surrounded by forested ridges. Arable fields, vast forests and the untouched nature areas surrounding the city are only twenty minutes from the centre. They provide recreational opportunities that are frequently taken advantage of by the city’s inhabitants, as well as increasingly by visitors. Day 02: By train to the mountain village of Geilo

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure from Oslo by train. The 4-hour journey from Oslo to Geilo is part of the Bergen Railway, classed as one of the finest train journeys in the world. This railway connects the two largest cities in Norway and shows the diversity of the Norwegian landscape. Accommodation in the mountain village of Geilo.

Day 03: Geilo – Flåm Railway & Fjord Cruise - Bergen

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure by train from Geilo to Myrdal, where you will change to the Flåm Railway. The Flåm Railway passes through wild and beautiful mountain scenery with waterfalls and steep mountain sides from a height of 900 metres and down to the Sognefjord. In the fjord village of Flåm you will continue by boat for a cruise on the Nærøyfjord to Gudvangen. From here the journey goes by bus through Nærøyfjord Valley and up the Stalheimskleiva road, with its 13 steep hairpin bends. The last part of today's journey will be by train from Voss to Bergen, Norway’s second largest city and the world’s only city surrounded by 7 mountains and 7 fjords. Accommodation in Bergen.

Day 04: Bergen - day at leisure

Breakfast at the hotel. This day is at your own leisure in Bergen. Sights of interest include the Hanseatic Bryggen Harbour, Fløibanen Funicular, Troldhaugen, the Fish and Flower market, Bergen Aquarium and Gamle Bergen (Old Bergen Open Air Museum). Day 05: Cruise along the coast to Stavanger

Breakfast at the hotel. Travel by express boat along the western coastline from Bergen to Stavanger. During the 4-hour boat trip you can enjoy fresh air, the sea, the beautiful coastline and the archipelago. Stavanger, Norway’s forth largest city, has a fine collection of gabled houses, cobblestone streets, winding alleys and busy markets. One of Stavanger’s highlights is the Old Town (Gamle Stavanger), with well preserved early 18th-century whitewashed wooden houses. Accommodation in Stavanger.

Day 06: Stavanger - Lysefjord & Pulpit Rock (optional excursion)

Breakfast at the hotel. This day is at your own leisure in Stavanger. We recommend an excursion to the Lysefjord and Pulpit Rock. Accommodation in Stavanger.

Day 07: Travel by train from Stavanger to Kristiansand

Breakfast at the hotel. Today your Norway journey continues by train along the Southern Line to Kristiansand, southern Norway's largest city. With its weathered old homes and pulsating summer atmosphere this is a very charming coastal city. Accommodation in Kristiansand.

Day 08: Kristiansand - day at leisure

Breakfast at the hotel. This day is at your own leisure. Accommodation in Kristiansand.

Day 09: Travel by train from Kristiansand to Oslo

Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will travel the last part of the Southern Line by train, returning back to Oslo. Accommodation in Oslo.

Day 10: Departure from Oslo

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from Oslo according to your own itinerary.
