Day 01: Stockholm, the capital of Sweden

Arrival in Stockholm according to your own itinerary. The capital of Sweden is built on 14 islands and you are never far from the water. Well-preserved medieval buildings stand alongside modern architecture, and just outside the city, the archipelago of 24 000 islands is waiting to be explored. Sights of interest include the Vasa Museum, Skansen Open Air Museum, City Hall, the Old Town (Gamla Stan) and much more. Accommodation in Stockholm

Day 02: Day at leisure in Stockholm

Breakfast at the hotel. This day is at your own leisure. We recommend one of the many optional sightseeing tours, i.e. the 2-hour boat trip Under the Bridges of Stockholm. Accommodation in Stockholm.

Day 03: Travel from Stockholm to Oslo by train

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure by train from Stockholm. The 7-hour train journey will take you to Oslo, the capital of Norway. This small and charming capital is beautifully situated at the head of the Oslo Fjord and surrounded by forested ridges. The surroundings provide recreational opportunities that are frequently taken advantage of by the city’s inhabitants, as well as increasingly by visitors. Accommodation in Oslo.

Day 04: Oslo, the capital of Norway

Breakfast at the hotel. This day is at your own leisure. Oslo offers many well know sights such as the Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Viking Ship Museum, the Munch Museum and Oslo Opera House. Accommodation in Oslo.

Day 05: Travel by train from Oslo to Geilo

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure from Oslo by train. The 4 hour journey from Oslo to Geilo is part of the Bergen Line, classed as one of the finest train journeys in the world. The railway connects the two largest cities in Norway and shows the diversity of the Norwegian landscape. Accommodation in the mountain village of Geilo.

Day 06: Geilo - Bergen; Fjord Cruise, Bergen- and Flåm Railway

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure by train from Geilo and across the Hardanger Mountain Plateau to Myrdal, where you will change to the Flåm Railway. The Flåm Railway passes through wild and beautiful mountain scenery with waterfalls and steep mountain sides reaching a height of up to 900 metres and down to the Sognefjord. There is no other adhesion railway in the world running on normal tracks that is so steep over a long distance. From Flåm you continue by boat on the Nærøyfjord to Gudvangen. The Nærøyfjord is the narrowest fjord channel in Europe, and has been added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List. From Gudvangen the journey continues by bus through the Nærøyfjord Valley and up Stalheimskleiva Road, with its 13 steep hairpin bends (Stalheimskleiva is only open during the summer). The last part of today's journey will be by train from Voss to Bergen, Norway’s second largest city and the world’s only city surrounded by 7 mountains and 7 fjords. Accommodation in Bergen.

Day 07: Day at leisure in Bergen, the Gateway to the Fjords

Breakfast at the hotel. This day is at your own leisure. Bergen is, with good reason, called the Gateway to the Fjords. The city is located on the west coast of Norway with close proximity to the famous Norwegian fjords. Sights of interest are the Hanseatic Bryggen Harbour, Fløibanen Funicular, Troldhaugen, the Fish and Flower market, Bergen Aquarium and Gamle Bergen (Old Bergen Open Air Museum).
