Hotel Flokalundur is a small summer hotel and camping site, situated on the shore of Vatnsfjordur, where the first settlers of Iceland landed. Vatnsfjordur, located on the south coast of the Westfjords, is a nature reserve and known for its beautiful nature and abundant flora and fauna. The weather conditions are stable and mild making Vatnsfjordur an interesting place to visit and enjoy. The hotel is only 6 km away from Brjanslækur which is a landing place for the ferry Baldur that sails on the Breidafjordur, connecting Snæfellsnes peninsula and the Westfjords.
Hotel Flokalundur has 15 rooms, all with private facilities. A spacious, common sitting room with a TV connects the sleeping quarters with the restaurant.
Please note that the hotel standard in Iceland outside of Reykjavik is basic, but still very comfortable (tourist class hotels no more than 3 stars). All the hotels included in our tours have private bathroom facilities and breakfast is included.Distances:
Hotel rooms in Scandinavia are generally furnished with twin beds, which can be moved together to form a double bed or placed separately (some hotels have double beds though). Unless otherwise specified all rooms have private bathroom facilities, which are often equipped with a shower instead of a bath. Please note that single rooms are generally smaller than doubles. Purpose-built triple or family rooms are likewise unusual in Scandinavian hotels. Whilst it is possible for 3 persons to share a room, this will normally be formed by a double room with an extra bed. As a result space may be restricted.
Unless otherwise clearly specified a standard room/cabin is included in the tour price.
