Hunderfossen Ice Hotel is Scandinavia’s southernmost Ice Hotel!

In the heart of Hunderfossen Winterpark you will find the Ice Hotel. With elegant lighting and location close to the fairytale castle it is an unique overnight experience!

The Ice Hotel has capacity for up to 22 guests and offers beautiful ice decorated rooms for guests who search for the unique experiences.

The room temperature will vary from -3 to -7 degrees Celsius and you will have a nice and warm sleep in comfortable sleeping bags on top of sheepskin.

Overnight at the Ice Hotel is possible on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The Winter Park is open from 4 pm to 8pm. When the park closes Quality Hotel Hunderfossen is at your disposal with a la carte restaurant, bar and light entertainment for the Ice Hotel guests. At 23:30 your Ice Hotel host will meet you in the hotel reception and you will all go by kick sledge up to the Ice Hotel. It is recommend that you change for your night at the Ice Hotel at Quality Hotel Hunderfossen.

If booking Hotel Category 1 you will have a hotel room at Quality Hotel Hunderfossen at your disposal from 3pm until 11 am.

  • The Ice Hotel has common reception service with Quality Hotel & Resort Hunderfossen, and guests staying at the Ice Hotel will have free use of the hotel’s hot showers and living room with open fireplace (own hotel room if booking Hotel Category 1).
  • Toilet facilities with hot tap water, as well as a warm dressing room is available right next to the Ice Hotel.
  • Your Ice Hotel host will overnight next to the Ice Hotel and is at disposal by phone (available at the Ice Hotel).

Hotel rooms in Scandinavia are generally furnished with twin beds, which can be moved together to form a double bed or placed separately (some hotels have double beds though). Unless otherwise specified all rooms have private bathroom facilities, which are often equipped with a shower instead of a bath. Please note that single rooms are generally smaller than doubles. Purpose-built triple or family rooms are likewise unusual in Scandinavian hotels. Whilst it is possible for 3 persons to share a room, this will normally be formed by a double room with an extra bed. As a result space may be restricted.
