Clarion Collection Hotel Havnekontoreta is an exclusive property. The hotel offers the best stay in Bergen and is situated right at the seafront on the famous UNESCO world heritage site Bryggen – a perfect location for exploring the city.
Once a harbour control office, this historic building has now been re-designed as a boutique hotel that offers service with a personal touch.
Of the hotels 116 rooms only 32 are standard rooms; all other rooms are graded as superior, deluxe or mini suites. The bar and lounge has already been named “The Golden Wine Barrel” and has a view over the Bryggen harbour area.
It is not the first time there has been a hotel here – the first hotel was in the 1800’s but the building was sold in 1915 for business offices. It is the only building in this area that remained standing after the big fire in 1944 and today the façade is protected as part of the Norwegian cultural heritage.Distances:
Hotel rooms in Scandinavia are generally furnished with twin beds, which can be moved together to form a double bed or placed separately (some hotels have double beds though). Unless otherwise specified all rooms have private bathroom facilities, which are often equipped with a shower instead of a bath. Please note that single rooms are generally smaller than doubles. Purpose-built triple or family rooms are likewise unusual in Scandinavian hotels. Whilst it is possible for 3 persons to share a room, this will normally be formed by a double room with an extra bed. As a result space may be restricted.
Unless otherwise clearly specified a standard room/cabin is included in the tour price.
