Excursion to Gauja National Park from Riga (with Turaida)

Enjoy a private 6-hour excursion to Gauja National Park! The park was founded 1973 and consist of more than 900 square kilometers which are popular for hiking, biking, backcountry camping and canoeing.

After your arrival, you will start with a sightseeing tour in Sigulda – a small and idyllic town with 10.000 inhabitants. You will visit the ruins of the Sigulda Medieval castle which was original built in 1207. From there you will enjoy a fabulous view on the Gauja River.

The second part of the tour will take you to the other side of the river. You will visit the Gutman Cave, a huge red sandstone cave. Afterwards you will visit the Turaida Castle (entrance included) which was damaged by a fire in 1776. Close to this castle you will find a little wooden church from 1750, the Daina Hill sculpture park of Latvian Folksongs and the Tomb of the “Rose of Turaida”.
